Service Description
Level 1 – Gentle Explorer This beautiful riverside walk follows the Avonmore River, one of the rivers that flows through the famous Avoca Valley. Starting in the charming town of Rathdrum, we wander along quiet trails beside the river where, if we’re lucky, you might spot a flash of blue from a kingfisher darting across the water. Our route brings us into Avondale Estate from a lesser-known entrance, away from the busy visitor routes. Here we walk through the historic lands of Charles Stewart Parnell, one of Ireland’s most important political leaders, before arriving at the stunning Avondale House. You can finish the walk with lunch in the café or take your adventure a little higher with the Beyond the Trees treetop walk and viewing tower. A relaxed, scenic walk that feels like discovering Wicklow’s hidden side. Duration: 2–3 hours Distance: Terrain: Easy trails and riverside paths Highlights: Avonmore River, Avoca Valley scenery, Avondale Estate Footwear: Good runners or trail shoes Payment & Group Size Minimum Group Price A minimum group rate of €180.00 (covering up to 4 participants) is required at the time of booking to secure your half day guided walk. Additional Participants Additional participants (beyond the initial 4) can be added on the day of the walk and will be charged at the individual participant rate of €45.00. Payment Methods for Additional Participants Payment for additional participants can be made on the day by: Cash Card Revolut Maximum Group Size The maximum group size for guided walks is 12 participants. If your group exceeds 12 participants, please contact us directly to discuss arrangements.
Cancellation Policy
Booking & Cancellation Policy Weather & Event Cancellations Stride Guided Walks will proceed in most weather conditions. Events will only be cancelled by Stride in the case of an official Orange weather warning or higher, or due to unforeseen circumstances where we believe conditions may be unsafe for participants. If Stride cancels an event, participants will be offered an alternative date or a full refund. Payment Terms Full minimum group payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place on a guided walk. Customer Cancellation & Refunds 7 days or more before the event: Full refund Between 7 days and 24 hours before the event: 50% refund Within 24 hours of the event: No refund (payment retained in full) We appreciate your understanding, as cancellations at short notice impact planning and availability for other participants.
